While this motor has provided us with years of great service you will need to be aware of the following. After not running the boat but for short day spurts this past summer - we took it out on the lake recently to verify the running condition and button her up for the winter. We found that the motor is cutting out (stuttering) when running anything over 4500rpm. I am not sure what is causing this, bad coil, bad ignition module, or bad optical sensor... you get the idea.
If you are looking at a new whaler or similar, you might consider that this one, even with a new motor put on, would be saving you tons while still providing a GREAT boat with Classic Whaler lines that you just can't get anymore. This is a classic!
